Rotate Image Online Free

Rotate, flip, and straighten images with zero quality loss. No software needed.

How to Rotate an Image Online

1

Upload Your Image

Drag and drop or click to browse. Supports JPEG, PNG, GIF, WebP, and HEIC up to 200 MB. EXIF orientation is applied automatically so your image displays correctly from the start.

2

Rotate or Flip

Click quick-rotate buttons for 90, 180, or 270 degrees. Use the angle slider for precise adjustments. Flip your image horizontally or vertically with a single click to create mirror effects.

3

Download Rotated Image

Choose your output format and download. Rotations at 90-degree increments are mathematically lossless. Custom angles use high-quality bicubic interpolation for professional results.

Frequently Asked Questions

SharpWebP supports any rotation angle from 0 to 360 degrees. Quick-rotate buttons let you rotate 90 degrees clockwise, 90 degrees counter-clockwise, or 180 degrees with a single click. For fine adjustments, use the angle slider or type an exact decimal value (for example, 2.5 degrees to straighten a slightly tilted horizon). The preview updates in real-time so you can see exactly how your image will look.

Yes. Many digital cameras and smartphones save photos with an EXIF orientation tag rather than physically rotating the pixel data. This causes images to appear rotated or sideways when viewed in certain applications. SharpWebP reads the EXIF orientation metadata on upload and applies it automatically, so your image displays in the correct orientation before you make any additional changes. This eliminates the frustrating "sideways iPhone photo" problem.

For 90, 180, and 270 degree rotations, the operation is mathematically lossless. Pixels are simply rearranged in memory without any resampling or interpolation -- no quality is lost whatsoever. For arbitrary angles (like rotating 15 or 33 degrees), SharpWebP uses high-quality bicubic interpolation on the server side to minimize artifacts. The result is validated with PSNR quality metrics to ensure professional output every time.

When you rotate a PNG or WebP image with an alpha channel by an arbitrary angle, the newly exposed areas outside the original image bounds are filled with transparent pixels. Your transparency is fully preserved throughout the rotation. For JPEG images, which do not support transparency, exposed areas are filled with white by default. On paid plans, you can select a custom background color for these areas.

Batch rotation is available on paid plans starting with Starter (499 INR/month). Upload a set of images, apply the same rotation angle or flip direction to all of them simultaneously, and download the corrected set as a ZIP archive. This is especially useful for fixing orientation on a batch of event photos, product shots, or scanned documents that all need the same correction.
