WebP is an image format developed by Google that provides superior compression over JPEG and PNG. WebP images are typically 25-80% smaller while maintaining the same visual quality. All modern browsers support WebP, and Google specifically recommends it for better Core Web Vitals scores, which directly impacts your search rankings.

Every image processed by SharpWebP is validated against two industry-standard quality metrics: PSNR (Peak Signal-to-Noise Ratio) must exceed 50dB and SSIM (Structural Similarity Index) must exceed 0.99. If an image doesn't meet these thresholds, the processing is flagged and you're not charged. This ensures every output is visually indistinguishable from the original.
